Thursday, May 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Presented by Gut Check Ever wondered why you get that uncomfortable feeling after a meal or if the things you are eating could be the culprit? Speaker Tammy Backman will help you understand what might be happening inside your body. She'll discuss what a healthy gut is, the role bacteria plays in the health of the gut, how to maintain a healthy gut.    Tammy has lived in Columbia, MO since 2007 with her husband, Paul, and four children. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 1994 from Auburn University before moving to Nebraska, Maryland and Mississippi.  Tammy has been a medical assistant since September 2009 for Marcy Markes, FNP.  She has been the office manager for Columbia Allergy and Asthma Specialists since 2013.    Through Tammy’s experience in her field she has become very passionate about gut health and how it affects multiple systems in our bodies. “Maintaining a healthy gut is one of the most important things we can do to protect ourselves from multiple diseases and conditions,” she said.   *
