DESCRIPTION:Being a leader is difficult\, especially alone. That is why all great leaders have mentors and serve as mentors because while success may seem incredibly competitive\, in reality\, it's a team effort. Mentors provide wisdom\, encouragement\, stimulate our personal and professional growth\, serve as confidants\, and even occasionally give necessary tough love. Join us for EPIC's November Lunching Outside the Box as our panel of experienced professionals explore the ins\, outs\, and the how-tos of mentorship. The panel will include: \n\n	Amanda Wooden - Director of Sales for Manor Roofing & Restoration Services \n	Michele Batye - Owner and President of Dave Griggs' Flooring America \n	Janice Schuerman - Retired Senior Vice President of Corporate Services Corporate Secretary with MFA Incorporated\, now Owner and Operator of Chapel View Stables\n\n We will cover how to pick the ideal mentor for you\, how to utilize that relationship effectively and to its full potential\, and how to become a mentor for someone else. Mentors are essential to your growth as a professional\, so don't miss out on the tips\, tricks\, and advice from these speakers as they draw on their collective wealth of experience for all attendees to learn from. Hope to see you there!\n\n \n\nAmanda Wooden works as the Director of Sales for Manor Roofing & Restoration in Columbia\, Missouri. Her responsibilities include developing and executing the company's strategic plan which provides the road map for all key growth sales strategies\, tactics and action plans to achieve the company's goals. Amanda has a Master of Higher Education from the University of Missouri\, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication from the University of Central Missouri. Prior to working at Manor\, Amanda spent over a decade teaching and working with students on professional development in Higher Education.  Amanda is originally from Overland Park\, Kansas but has called Columbia home for many years.  She spends her free time managing her farm with her husband\, Jeremy\, and 3 children (Audrey 19\, Jackson 10\, Avery 6).  \n\n\nMichele Batye is the owner and president of Dave Griggs' Flooring America\, a locally owned flooring source for both retail and commercial projects. She began her career with Dave Grigg's in 1992 as a design assistant and since that time has worn many hats to the path of ownership. Her passion for her employees\, clients\, and community is grounded by her belief in cultivating trust\, sustainability\, and happiness. Helping others find and utilize their own strenghts is her life's purpose.\n\nA native of Boone County\, Michele grew up in Hallsville\, Missouri where she attended primary through High School.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile & Apparel Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  She is a member of the 2016 Leadership Columbia Class\, is Past Chair of Women's Network and currently holds seats on the Chamber of Commerce and Access Arts Boards. \n\nMichele and her husband\, of Twenty-two years\, James\, reside in Ashland\, Missouri where they have raised three children and now enjoy three Grand Children.
