All attendees must be on the guestlist to be admitted.\n\n \nAbout the Speaker: \n\n\n\nPolice Chief Geoff Jones\, Columbia Police Department\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGeoff [pronounced "JEFF"] Jones was appointed Columbia's Chief of Police on August 5\, 2019\, and was officially sworn into his position on September 16\, 2020. Deep local roots\, relationships\, and understanding are the hallmarks of his life and work in this community. \n\n\n\nChief Jones is a Columbia native who first joined our Police Department as a Cadet at age 14 while attending Rock Bridge High School. As a student\, when not involved in school activities or working at his uncle's restaurant\, he volunteered his time to CPD.\n\n\n\nChief Jones earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Missouri in 1997\, joined the Sedalia Police Department shortly after graduation\, and returned home in 1998 to answer the calling he found as a Cadet: serving his community as a Columbia Police Officer.\n\n\n\nOver the last 22 years\, Chief Jones has worked as a Patrol Officer\, Narcotics Detective\, Sergeant\, Police Lieutenant and Interim Police Chief.
